Eli Wood to the portal
Eli Wood, the plucky walk-on who willed his way to a career-high 16 catches in 2025, has entered the transfer portal, and is ostensibly on his way out of the UVA Football program.
Have to assume here that he is seeing the writing on the wall.
Wood was mostly a special-teams contributor in 2023 and 2024, before getting snaps at wideout as the offense worked through a spate of injuries in the second half of the 2025 season.

Wood scored the game-tying TD in the ACC Championship Game, one of his three catches in that game, and he had four catches for 71 yards in the Gator Bowl win over Missouri.
For the season, he had 16 catches on 25 targets, for 205 yards, 12.8 yards per catch, and two TDs.
Wood also logged 170 snaps on special teams for Virginia in 2025.
Chad Morris back at Clemson
The man who preceded Tony Elliott as the offensive coordinator and play-caller at Clemson is back on the staff of head coach Dabo Swinney.
Chad Morris, the father of UVA’s incumbent starting QB, Chandler Morris, was named the offensive coordinator at Clemson on Saturday.
If you’re like me, you’re wondering how this move impacts the future of Chandler Morris, who is petitioning the NCAA for a seventh year of eligibility, to return to Virginia, or so we assume.
My quick read of the Clemson blogosphere suggests that we shouldn’t worry.
