Nationals win series finale with Diamondbacks

washington nationalsPedro Severino and Wilmer Difo hit solo homers to back Reynaldo Lopez in a 5-3 Washington Nationals win over Arizona on Thursday.

Lopez (5-3, 4.57 ERA) got the win in relief, giving up two runs on three hits in three and two-thirds innings.

Mark Melancon (45 saves, 1.70 ERA) got the save for the Nats (93-66).

Michael A. Taylor (.226 BA/.648 OPS) was 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Joe Ross started and went four innings, giving up a run on three hits, striking out five and walking two.
