nationals_logoOn the day that the Nationals were officially eliminated from the 2015 playoff race, Bryce Harper delivered with a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 12th to lift Washington to a 2-1 win over Philadelphia Saturday night.

Washington (79-75) broke a four-game losing streak. The New York Mets clinched the National League East title earlier in the day on Saturday with a 10-2 win in Cincinnati.

Stephen Strasburg was masterful in a no-decision, giving up one run on three hits in eight innings of work, striking out 13 and walking one.

Since returning from the disabled list on Aug. 8, Strasburg is 5-2 with a 2.08 ERA in nine starts, and he has struck out 10 or more batters in four straight starts dating back to Sept. 9.

In that stretch, Strasburg has struck out 50, walked four and allowed 15 hits in 30 and a third innings, with a 2-1 record and 1.48 ERA.

Harper was 3-for-5 at the plate on the day to raise his MLB-leading batting average to .339.
