Bryce Harper homered again, which is nothing new. Joe Ross pitched another gem, which is good news.
The Washington Nationals made it eight of nine with a 9-1 win in Philadelphia Friday night. Ross (2-0, 0.61 ERA) gave up three hits in seven and two-thirds scoreless innings, striking out five and walking two.
Michael A. Taylor hit a first-inning leadoff homer, his first long ball of the season. Harper hit his fourth dinger, a two-run shot, in the sixth, and was 3-for-4 at the plate.
Washington belted out 16 hits.
