NASCAR back at Richmond International Raceway twice in 2015

rirWhat’s better than a single scoop? A double dip! That’s what race fans in Richmond will get in 2015, as NASCAR returns to Richmond International Raceway twice next season, and it will be on our traditional dates. Fans will rise to their feet for NASCAR excitement April 24 & 25 and September 11 & 12.

What else is the same? The race entitlements:

  • Friday, April 24, 2015: ToyotaCare 250
  • Saturday, April 25, 2015: TOYOTA OWNERS 400
  • Friday, September 11, 2015: Virginia529 College Savings 250
  • Saturday, September 12, 2015: Federated Auto Parts 400

Keep an eye on your mailbox and inbox, as ticket renewals for 2015 will be mailed out this fall.

“NASCAR’s return to Richmond International Raceway twice in 2015 is exciting news for our race fans, sponsors, and the entire Greater Richmond Area,” said RIR President Dennis Bickmeier. “These races are not only action-packed sports entertainment, but also a boon for the local economy.”

This exciting news comes less than two weeks before RIR’s “One Last Race to Make The Chase” weekend, highlighted by the Federated Auto Parts 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Saturday, September 6. Twelve drivers are locked in to the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, but four spots remain. Who has what it takes to Get On The Grid? But the fun doesn’t end when the checkered flag flies! Every ticket holder is invited to join us on the pavement for the Post-Race Party on the Track, featuring a DJ to get you pumped up for the driver celebration, which includes an introduction of all 16 drivers in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

We’ll get the weekend started Friday, September 5, with a full day of on-track activity, culminating with theVirginia529 College Savings 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race. A tight points battle has Chase Elliott, Regan Smith, Ty Dillon, and Elliott Sadler locked at the top. Friday’s a great night to bring the whole family because children 12 and younger are admitted free.
