Memo to Hakeem Jeffries, Chuck Schumer | Trump wants to tell jokes? So, tell jokes

Democrats need to stop being offended at Donald Trump, and start throwing the AI sombrero and Mariachi band approach back at him.

“Oh, I think it’s funny! The president’s joking, and we’re having a good time,” the vice president, and noted couch-humper – you have to admit, that’s also funny! – JD Vance told reporters on Wednesday, making light of the kindergarten-level AI video posted by Trump depicting House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries wearing a sombrero, with a Mariachi band playing in the background.

“You can negotiate in good faith while also poking a little bit of fun at some of the absurdities of the Democrats’ positions, and even, you know, poking some fun at the absurdity of the Democrats themselves,” said Vance, who, man, still gotta wonder, about his affinity for fine Corinthian leather.

Sorry, just trying to lighten the mood!

JD would want that.

Somebody brought out “Trump 2028” hats to put on the table in between Trump, Jeffries and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer for their budget impasse tete-a-tete yesterday.

Two can play at that game; Jeffries and Schumer need to show up at their next meeting with Trump wearing “Obama 2028 hats.

Get under Trump’s famously thin skin, basically.

The guy can dish it out, but we all know he can’t take it.

“It was the strangest thing ever,” Jeffries told CNN, referencing the “Trump 2028” hats left sitting on the table.

“I just looked at the hats, looked at JD Vance, who was seated to my left, and said, Don’t you got a problem with this, and he said, No comment, and that was the end of it,” Jeffries said.

Actually, no, that’s not the end of it – Vance told a reporter today that he would tell Jeffries “if you help us reopen the government, the sombrero memes will stop,” which, fair.

Jeffries should show up to the Oval Office to “negotiate in good faith” wearing a “You Can’t Fix Stupid, But The Hats Sure Make It Easy to Identify” T-shirt.

Just trying to be funny!

Schumer could have a pair of “Elect a Clown, Expect a Circus” tees to offer to Trump and Vance.

And on their way in, one of them could post a riff off the AI commercial the “South Park” guys did featuring the 330-pound pantsless Trump, crawling around, his massive arse high in the air, maybe wearing a sombrero.

Come on, you have to admit, that’s funny!
