MASN to air games featuring MiLB affiliates of Washington Nationals, Baltimore Orioles

I got press releases this morning from the Rochester Red Wings and the Norfolk Tides about how MASN is going to air a few of their upcoming games, and the thought popped into my head: why wasn’t this done a long time ago?

“We are excited about the opportunity to have our games broadcast on the Nationals network,” said Dan Mason, the general manager of the Red Wings, the Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals.

“It will give Nationals fans a glimpse of the rising stars that will be making their way to Nationals Park very soon, and give us a chance to showcase our operation, including our ballpark, merchandise, food and much more,” Mason said.

Seriously, all MASN exists for is to broadcast O’s and Nats games. The daily schedule includes repeats of O’s and Nats games, paid programming, and off-brand offerings like sumo wrestling and something called World Chase Tag, which I hate to admit to having watched, just to figure it out.

“We are excited to announce the addition of these minor league games, which will allow both Nationals and Orioles fans to see the franchises’ stars of tomorrow on MASN today and further connect them to their teams,” said Greg Bader, the executive vice president and general manager of MASN.
