Man killed in Botetourt County crash on Route 220 identified by State Police

The driver of a vehicle who died on Monday night in a single-vehicle crash in Botetourt County has been identified by Virginia State Police.

William Lee McMann, 72, of Marlinton, W. Va. died at the scene.

The crash occurred at 6:49 p.m. on Route 220, four tenths of a mile south of Catawba Creek Road.

McMann was traveling on Route 220 when his 2021 Nissan Kicks ran off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment and overturned.

The crash remains under investigation by Virginia State Police.
