“No Kings” is a “hate America” rally, House Speaker Mike Johnson told reporters on Friday, referring to the next round of “No Kings” rallies being held next weekend, including locally in Staunton and Charlottesville.
And Johnson was being respectful, relatively speaking.
“Chuck Schumer and Democrats are putting the livelihoods of the American people at risk to score political points with their pro-terrorist wing of the Democrat Party,” Minnesota MAGA Congressman Tom Emmer said.
‘No Kings’: Saturday, Oct. 18 local events
- Staunton: Augusta County Courthouse, 12:30-2 p.m.
- Charlottesville: The Shops at Stonefield, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Shenandoah County: 443 W. Reservoir Road, Woodstock, 10 am. to noon
- Culpeper: Sign up for more details, 10 a.m. to noon
- Lynchburg: Miller Park, 2-4 p.m.
- Roanoke: Corner of Orange and Burrell, noon to 1 p.m.
Funny thing about hating America and the references to terror – the Oct. 18 rally in Staunton that I’ll be attending next week will be my third local anti-Trump rally of the year, and the only thing resembling terrorism that I’ve witnessed to date was when a neo-Nazi squealed his tires past an intersection of protestors and threatened to “punch” one person he claimed had touched his three-ton truck as he sat at a stoplight “right square in the motherfucking mouth.”
I didn’t personally witness the second incident involving a White supremacist waving a gun at protestors at the same stoplight in front of the Augusta County Courthouse, but I know it was reported to Staunton Police, who didn’t exactly go out of their way to investigate.

It’s frustrating, to say the least, to live in a world where actual troublemakers aren’t held to account, and the guy who is third-in-line to the presidency refers to law-abiding American citizens exercising their First Amendment rights as “the Antifa crowd, and the pro-Hamas crowd, and the Marxists.”
This Emmer guy, though, he takes the cake, calling “No Kings” protestors terrorists.
You may remember the story of a MAGA congressman who posted a video online showing him shooting a machine gun with the message #FirePelosi days before a man broke into Pelosi’s home and attacked husband with a hammer.
That was Tom Emmer, who also opposed legislation combatting anti-LGBTQ+ bullying in schools, and once backed a measure lightening penalties on drunk drivers, because, you know, we’re too tough on, you know, drunk drivers.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve had just about all I can stand of these jackboot-lickers.
