Lynchburg Hillcats to host Fan FunFest Saturday

lynchburg hillcatsWith the offseason winding down, the Lynchburg Hillcats will once again welcome fans to City Stadium for its annual Fan FunFest on Saturday, March 26. Admission is free, and the event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a voucher for a free hot dog.

At 11 a.m., the Hillcats Home Run Derby will begin, featuring local media personalities from television, print, and radio. Following the home run derby, fans ages 14 and under are encouraged to come down to the field and participate in the Hillcats Easter Egg Hunt. Later, all fans can take part in batting practice on the field just like the pros.

Fan FunFest will also feature giveaways throughout the afternoon and free activities for fans of all ages to enjoy, such as ballpark tours and inflatables. Upon entry into the stadium, fans should register on the concourse to be eligible for free prizes, which will be given out every 30 minutes. All those who register will have the chance to win caps, T-shirts and more.

Guided tours of the ballpark will allow fans to check out the team clubhouse, the skybox suites, the dugouts, and more. The Hillcats team store, The Catty Shack, will be open for business, and fans can purchase season tickets, mini plans and single-game tickets.

Lynchburg’s home opener is slated for Thursday, April 7, when the Hillcats take on the Winston-Salem Dash at 6:30 p.m. Season tickets and book tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by calling 434-528-1144. Fans can also purchase tickets by stopping by the Front OfficeMonday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

All 140 Hillcats games this season will be broadcast on ESPN Radio 93.3 FM and 1320 AM in addition to an online stream that can be found at www.lynchburg-hillcats.com.
