Lynchburg District Weekly Traffic Alert: Jan. 25-31

Amherst County: Don Austin, Residency Administrator

Route 501/130 (Snowden) – 1/5-2/5/15, weather permitting, rock scaling operations will occur on Rt.130 approx. ½ mile south of Route 501/130 intersection. Traffic controls and flaggers will be in use.  Delays of up to 15 minutes are likely.

Route 643 over Horsley Creek – 1/5/15-10/15/15, bridge replacement and approach work.  Traffic control devices and flaggers will be in use. Use caution; expect delays.

 

Appomattox County: Don Austin, Residency Administrator

Buckingham County: Kevin Wright, Residency Administrator

Dillwyn AHQ – Crews will make drainage repairs on secondary routes.

Various – Crews will make surface repairs, boom axe and respond to customer concerns.

 

Campbell County: Don Austin, Residency Administrator

Bridge inspection: Route 501 over Staunton River, Jan. 28.

Route 643 over Falling River – 12/15/14-7/22/16, bridge replacement and approach work.  Traffic control devices and flaggers will be in use. Use caution; expect delays.

 

Charlotte County:  Kevin Wright, Residency Administrator

Route 675 over Cub Creek (Rt. 40 – Poor House Rd) – Road closed; temporary signal for bridge replacement. Est. comp. 9/28/15.

Craftons Gate – Crews will weed and cut brush.

Phenix – Crews will clean ditches and add shoulder stone.

Various secondary routes–Crews will work surfaces, boom axe and respond to customers.

 

Cumberland County: Kevin Wright, Residency Administrator

Various – Crews will work surfaces, repair shoulders, cut brush and respond to customers.

 

Halifax County: Kenneth Martin, Residency Administrator

Bethel AHQ -Crews will cut right of way.

Cluster Springs and Volens AHQ – Crews will work shoulders.

Volens AHQ – Crews will boom axe.

Various – Crews will work surfaces and respond to customer concerns.

 

Nelson County: Don Austin, Residency Administrator

Route 672 over East Branch- Road closed to through traffic 1/26 -2/20 for culvert replacement. Detour in place.

Route 722 over Branch of Buffalo Creek – Road closed 1/12-2/6/15, for structure replacement. Detour in place.

 

Pittsylvania County: Kenneth Martin, Residency Administrator

Route 713 (701-662) over Sandy Creek – Road closed 1/12-4/3/15, for structure replacement. Detour in place.

Brosville and Kentuck AHQ –Crews will perform ditch work.

Brosville, Kentuck, Mt. Airy and Rondo AHQ – Crews will boom axe.

Gretna AHQ – Crews will add rock around mailboxes and on shoulders and cut and limb dead trees.

Kentuck, Mt. Airy and Rondo AHQ – Crews will work shoulders.

Various – Crews will work surfaces, clean roadsides and respond to customer concerns.

 

Prince Edward County: Kevin Wright, Residency Administrator

Route 623 –Bridge replacement over NS and Buckingham Branch Railroads. Est. comp. 6/30/15.

Route 658– Crews will make shoulder repairs.   

Various – Crews will clean roadsides, make surface repairs, cut brush and respond to customers

 

District-wide activities:

Bridge and guardrail maintenance – Crews will perform bridge/guardrail maintenance.
