Long-time UVA lacrosse coach Dom Starsia elected to IMLCA Hall of Fame

new uva logoFormer UVA men’s lacrosse head coach Dom Starsia was a unanimous selection to the 2020 Intercollegiate Men’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Hall of Fame class.

A college lacrosse star as a player at Brown, Starsia, who was inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2008, led his alma mater to two Ivy League titles as head coach before taking over the Virginia program in 1993.

In 24 years with the Cavaliers, the team amassed 13 NCAA semifinal appearances, six ACC Tournament Championships, four NCAA national championships, and a the perfect season – in 2006 – in NCAA history.

In 42 years of collegiate coaching, Starsia compiled a 329-118 record, making him the winningest coach in D1 history.
