Local Business Held Fundraiser for HR Meals on Wheels

Mitzie Campbell of Pet Sitting by Mitzie came to the Waynesboro office and gave VPAS an envelope full of checks totaling $930.

These donations were collected from her business clients as the result of a solicitation letter she sent out asking for donations for Meals on Wheels. There were 30 individual donors that responded to Ms. Campbell’s request.

Ms. Campbell initiated this fundraiser on her own without any contact or communication with the HR office.

This is an excellent example of a community member seeing a need and taking action to respond to the need. The unsolicited generous act of kindness will provide almost 200 hot meals for home-bound older adults.

Pet Sitting by Mitzie is located in Harrisonburg.
