Layne Riggs took the lead on Lap 121 of 200 during the UNOH 200 Presented by Ohio Logistics on Thursday, passing runner-up Corey Heim and holding the position to secure his second career win.

Though Riggs isn’t in the Playoff hunt, his dominant drive proved to be a spoiler once again, following his victory in the Playoff opener at the Milwaukee Mile on August 25.

“My team has been incredible, and we’ve learned so much,” Riggs, driver of the No. 38 Front Row Motorsports Ford, commented. “Going back-to-back in the Playoffs makes me wish I were in the championship race.”

It also marked his fourth consecutive top-five finish.

Corey Heim Settles for Second

Despite being unable to defend his 2023 Thunder Valley win, Corey Heim’s second-place finish was enough to advance him into the Round of 8.

Heim had a solid points day. Acknowledging struggles with tire heat cycles that tightened his truck’s handling, he remained optimistic with a straight forward statement.

“I’m looking forward to Kansas next week.”

Other Playoff drivers moving forward include Christian Eckes, who finished fourth, and Nick Sanchez, who crossed the line in fifth. The top 10 finishers at Bristol included several Playoff drivers. Matt Crafton finishing sixth, followed by Chase Purdy, Ty Majeski, Stewart Friesen and Tyler Ankrum, rounding out the top 10.

Rajah Caruth Moves Up in the Standings

Rajah Caruth’s third-place finish boosted his Playoff standing, climbing to fifth overall and placing him 35 points above the cut line before the elimination race at Kansas. “We executed the race well—just two spots short,” Caruth said.

Playoff Drama Intensifies

Reigning champion Ben Rhodes finished 27th, two laps down, and slipped to 10th in the standings. He now sits 12 points behind Grant Enfinger, who holds the final transfer spot in eighth place.

Daniel Dye’s race came apart after a Lap 157 tangle with Kaden Honeycutt, sending Dye to a 37th-place finish, six laps down. He enters Kansas seven points behind the cut line.
