Keeping a job is topic of talk at BC

In today’s challenging economy, more candidates are vying for fewer jobs. What is the difference between the candidates who get the jobs and those who don’t? Thirty-year corporate executive Andy Teach will speak on “How to Get and Keep a Great Job” on Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 7:30 p.m. in Cole Hall at Bridgewater College.

“In today’s tough economic climate, two of the most important things for young people are obtaining a job and keeping a job,” says Teach. “Finding ways to avoid conflict with bosses and older co-workers is key to staying employed when the economy forces bosses to lay someone off.”

Teach’s book, From Graduation to Corporation: The Practical Guide to Climbing the Corporate Ladder One Rung at a Time, has received critical acclaim from book reviewers, media and business professionals, as well as college students.

Teach graduated from Rutgers College with B.A. degrees in business administration and human communications. He worked for two New York City advertising agencies before working at a major Los Angeles television and motion picture studio’s research department for more than 20 years, where he rose from research clerk to vice president of network and cable research.

Teach has appeared as a guest and commentator on radio programs and has lectured at many colleges and universities.
