Kaine campaign raises $1.2M in second quarter

Today, Kaine for Virginia announced the campaign raised more than $1.2 million in the pre-primary phase of the second quarter of 2012, and has reserved $2.5 million in television advertising for the fall campaign.

The report filed today will show Kaine for Virginia has raised approximately $8.6 million since the campaign began last April and now has $2.5 million cash on hand.

“We continue to be encouraged by the strong grassroots enthusiasm for Governor Kaine. It is this generous support and a smart management of resources that has allowed us to make an early investment for the fall,” said Kaine for Virginia Communications Director Brandi Hoffine. “As he travels across the Commonwealth holding roundtables, touring businesses, and meeting with Virginians of all walks of life, Governor Kaine hears time and again that the last thing voters want is a return to the failed policies and attitudes that helped create our economic mess.  Virginians have enthusiastically received Governor Kaine’s forward-focused, Virginia-based strategies for creating jobs and strengthening our economy, as well as his message and record of working together to find common ground.  We look forward to continuing to contrast Governor Kaine’s optimistic vision for our country’s future with the failed approach offered by the Republicans in this race.”
