No injuries in crash landing at Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport

shdAt 2:39 p.m. Saturday (May 24, 2014), Virginia State Police Trooper R.C. Martin responded to the Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport in Weyers Cave Airport to investigate a crash landing of an aircraft. A 6-seater Beechcraft Bonanza 35 was coming in for a landing when the pilot failed to put down the landing gear. The plane landed on its belly and skidded approximately 150 yards before coming to rest on the runway.

Neither the pilot, Myron Rummel, 61, of Bridgewater, Va., nor his adult female passenger was injured in the landing.

The NTSB was notified.
