UVA Football won’t be going bowling, again – it’s been five years – but a number of schools that the ‘Hoos played in 2024 will be.

Starting at the top, Virginia was 0-3 against teams selected for the 12-team College Football Playoff – #7 seed Notre Dame (35-14, Nov. 16), #11 seed SMU (33-7, Nov. 23) and #12 Clemson (48-31, Oct. 19).

Notre Dame (11-1) will host #10 seed Indiana (11-1) on Friday, Dec. 20.

SMU (11-2) will face #6 seed Penn State (11-2) in Happy Valley on Dec. 21.

Clemson (10-3) will face #5 seed Texas (11-2), also on Dec. 21.

Duke’s Mayo Bowl (Friday, Jan. 3)

Analysis

So, the UVA Football team was 0-3 against the CFP teams, and 3-3 against the bowl teams.

The 27-13 loss at home to a Maryland team that would finish 4-8 would prove to be fatal to the bowl chances.
