Markerhistory.com recently announced the release of Virginia Marker History – Volume V – Shenandoah Valley Region as part of its Historical Marker Collection series.

“The Shenandoah Valley region guidebook brings history home, eliminating the danger of being rear-ended while slowing down or pulling over on busy roads to read the markers.”, according to Richard Harrison, publisher, markerhistory.com. “For people who view and read images of historical road markers online, it adds and an element of convenience and enjoyment by removing the requirement to be in front of a screen.”

Available at markerhistory.com, Virginia Marker History – Volume V – Shenandoah Valley Region is a pictorial guidebook to the more than 300 Virginia historical road markers located in the Shenandoah Valley Region of Virginia.

Consisting of 288 pages, it includes a full page color image of each marker located in Alleghany, Augusta, Bath, Botetourt, Clarke, Craig, Frederick, Highland, Page, Roanoke, Rockingham, Shenandoah, and Warren counties and the Independent cities of Buena Vista, Covington, Harrisonburg, Lexington, Roanoke, Salem, Staunton, Waynesboro and Winchester.

It also includes a convenient marker title, marker number, gps coordinate, and geographic location index for easy reference at home or on the road. The marker images are grouped by key historic periods and arranged chronologically within each, providing a unique regional composite of significant places, events and people that define our past and have shaped who we are today.
