Henry County: Martinsville man dead in single-vehicle crash on Greensboro Road

A 59-year-old Martinsville man is dead following a single-vehicle crash on Tuesday in Henry County.

Jerold W. Carter, 59, died at the scene, according to Virginia State Police.

The fatal crash occurred at 5:35 p.m. on Greensboro Road near the intersection with Tensbury Drive.

Carter was travelling northbound in a Ford Mustang when the vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck a pole.

Carter was wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation.
