A collaborative ensemble of students from Harrisonburg and Rocktown high schools will take part in the National Veterans Parade in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 10.

The Rock City Regiment Marching Band is one of the selected groups for the parade, which will include a variety of military, college and high school bands.

The Rock City Regiment continues the tradition of excellence from students in Harrisonburg previously set for decades by the Marching Blue Streak Band. The program prides itself on inclusion, unity and excellence.

“We feel humbled that Rock City Regiment will represent our community in a national event, and particularly one that honors our nation’s veterans,” said J.R. Snow, coordinator of visual and performing arts.

In addition to marching in the parade, the Rock City Regiment will perform its 2024 field show “Forged Together” on the National Mall as part of the National Field Show festival.
