Harrisonburg man dead in high-speed fatal motorcycle crash in Rockingham County

A motorcyclist died Monday morning after a crash on Kratzer Road in Rockingham County.

Jacobo E. Wilson, 34, of Harrisonburg, died at the scene of the crash. He was wearing a helmet.

The crash occurred at 7:47 a.m. when Wilson was traveling north allegedly at a high rate of speed.

Wilson attempted to pass another northbound vehicle and crossed a double solid yellow center line and lost control, according to Virginia State Police.

Wilson ran off the left side of the road, and the motorcycle collided with a utility pole.

The crash remains under investigation.
