Harmon joins staff at Augusta Health

Chris Graham

Dr. Robert Christopher Harmon, a gastroenterologist, has joined Augusta Health Gastroenterology in Fishersville.

Dr. Harmon is experienced in both Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatograpy (ERCP), exciting new technologies for the diagnosis and management of pancreas and biliary diseases.

“This minimally invasive tool also helps evaluate and manage diseases of the esophagus, stomach, pancreas, liver and rectum,” says Dr. Harmon.  “Generally, these tools are limited to major academic centers, so I am excited about bringing these cutting edge technologies here to Augusta Health.”

Augusta Health Gastroenterology is located at 70 Medical Center Circle, Suite 302, in Fishersville.  The office phone number is 540.245.7350.

After graduating from Marshall University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and a PhD in Toxicology, Dr. Harmon received his Doctor of Medicine from the Marshall University School of Medicine.  He completed his Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship at the University of Virginia.  He also completed an advanced fellowship in Advanced GI Endoscopy at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.

Dr. Harmon is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and Hepatology.  Prior to coming to Augusta Health, Dr. Harmon practiced in Roanoke.
