Climate Action Alliance of the Valley, a local grassroots non-profit organization working to educate citizens and legislators about the risks resulting from our warming climate, is urging its members to speak up about proposed regulations to reduce carbon pollution from Virginia’s power plants.
On March 14, in Harrisonburg, the public will have the chance to tell the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality its thoughts on “Regulation for Emissions Trading Programs” published on January 8, 2018.
These regulations provide the only way now open for Virginia to lower its carbon emissions in the power sector. DEQ is holding a public hearing at its office, 4411 Early Rd, Harrisonburg, from 5 to 7 pm on March 14.
