A Greenville bank was robbed at gunpoint Friday morning, and the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office is on the lookout for whodunit.
A lone gunman described as a white male, 20 to 30 years old, entered the BB&T Bank on Lee-Jackson Highway in Greenville at 11:22 a.m. The man, brandishing a black semi-automatic pistol, demanded and received cash and herded the three on-duty bank employees into a bathroom before fleeing the bank on foot.
None of the employees were injured during the robbery.
The Augusta County Emergency Communications Center received a bank alarm from the bank at 11:27 a.m. Deputies were on the scene a minute later.
The robber was wearing a dark gray hoodie pullover, blue jeans, a red knit cap, a dark-colored facemask or bandana and white landscaping gloves.
