Governor-McAuliffeGovernor Terry McAuliffe released the following statement today following a meeting of the White House Council of Governors at the Pentagon.

“I am honored to join this distinguished group of Governors from across the country who advise our President and national security leadership on keeping our states and our nation safe. Virginia is more connected to the military than any other, and plays a central role in this country’s national defense and homeland security and I am eager to work with our colleagues in the federal government and across the country to bring our Commonwealth’s voice to the table.”

At the meeting Governor McAuliffe became the latest member of the bipartisan council, which is comprised of 10 governors who advise the White House and U.S. national security leadership on matters related to the National Guard and civil support missions.
