Kevin Gausman notched his first win of 2016 in a 5-0 Baltimore win over Tampa Bay in the first game of a day-night doubleheader Saturday.
Gausman (1-5, 3.93 ERA) put in seven and two-thirds shutout innings, allowing four hits, striking out seven and walking none.
The O’s (43-30) got on the board with a pair of runs in the second on RBI singles by J.J. Hardy (.257/.292/.400) and Adam Jones (.250/.295/.442).
A Franisco Pena (.240/.296/.360) two-run single in the sixth extended the lead to 4-0, and Pedro Alvarez (.236/.315/.459) added an insurance run in the seventh with an RBI single.
Chris Tillman (10-1, 3.11 ERA) gets the start in the nightcap for the Orioles, who are a season-high 13 games above .500.
