Game Notes: No. 6 Virginia plays at George Washington on Monday

  • UVA looks for its eighth consecutive win against George Washington.
  • The Cavaliers face the Colonials in Washington, D.C., for the first time since 1983.

  • UVA has been ranked in the top 10 in 24 consecutive AP polls since March 3, 2014, its longest span since 49 consecutive polls from 1980-83.
  • Virginia has been ranked in the preseason top-10 in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1981-82 and 1982-83.

  • Mike Tobey had a game-high 15 points as No. 6 Virginia rolled to an 86-48 win over Morgan State in season-opening action on Friday, Nov. 13.
  • Devon Hall added a career-best 13 points and Darius Thompson chipped in 12 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals for UVA.
  • Virginia out-rebounded Morgan State 50-21 and limited the Bears to 34 percent (17-50) shooting from the field.

  • Justin Anderson had a game-high 18 points and Malcolm Brogdon added 15 to send UVA to a 59-42 win over GW on Nov. 21, 2014.
  • Darion Atkins matched a then-career high with 11 rebounds and added three blocks.
  • The Cavaliers out-rebounded the Colonials 41-28 and committed eight turnovers.
  • UVA trailed at the half (26-22), but outscored the Colonials 37-16 in the second half.
