shenandoah universityThe Shenandoah University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is offering free admission to its Monday, Dec. 17 non-league men’s basketball game.

The Hornets host longtime rival Mary Washington this coming Monday at noon in the James R. Wilkins, Jr. Athletics & Events Center, and all fans will be admitted free to the contest.

“With this final game before break, we wanted to do something special for the community,” Director of Athletics Bridget Lyons, Ph.D, said.

“We would like to invite everyone in the community to come out and experience a game in the Wilkins Center. It is a great chance to see our new facility and support the Hornets!”

The university is offering all staff (with supervisor approval) the opportunity to come to the game during normal business hours and Sodexo, the university’s food services provider, will have its usual concessions fare for fans coming over during their lunch break.

Fans can bring in food from outside vendors as well.

The department is also offering giveaways from two of its sponsors, the SU Bookstore and Pizza Hut Pizza.

“This is an excellent way to celebrate the end of the semester and have a little fun before the holiday rush,” Dr. Lyons said. “We look forward to welcoming everyone to the game.”
