Good news for failed former attorney general Jason Miyares: he’s no longer unemployed.
Miyares landed a gig as a “distinguished fellow” with an outfit that calls itself Advancing American Freedom.
Now, here’s the catch for Miyares with AAF: it was founded in 2021 by Mike Pence, the former first-term Trump VP, who fell out of favor with Team Trump because he failed to “show courage” on a certain Jan. 6.
“Jason Miyares is a principled conservative with an inspiring personal story who served Virginia with integrity, and I couldn’t be more honored to welcome him to Advancing American Freedom,” Pence said in a statement, which went on to offer thoughts about Miyares being a “champion of the Constitution” and something about “parental rights.”
“Our entire team could not be more proud to welcome Jason Miyares to Advancing American Freedom – the new home for the conservative movement,” Pence said.
Taking a job with Pence, who didn’t even make it to the primaries face of the 2024 GOP presidential race, means, Miyares had no offers from the various and sundry Trump-aligned think tanks.
Poor guy, trying to remain relevant, and employed.
