fishburneFork Union’s offense and press were too much for Fishburne as the Blue Devils took the 2015 Caissons Classic Team Championship by beating FMS, 83-67, on Saturday.

Kian Tate led the scoring effort for the runner-up Caissons with a game-high 26 points. Messiah Woods scored 18, and Holden Sandridge added 10 points in the losing effort.

On Friday, Fork Union jumped on top of the Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets and never looked back. Although R-MA would mount a better defense in the second half, Fork Union withstood the pressure to move on to the championship game. Fork Union took the victory 69-49. Carl Trice led the way for FUMA with 14 points with three other Blue Devils scoring in double figures. Paul Miller had 28 points to lead the Yellow Jackets.

In the late game, the Caissons faced rival Massanutten. Similar to the first game, the Fishburne jumped on top of the Colonels early and maintained the lead throughout the game. Fishburne ended up with an 82-32 win. Woods led a balanced Fishburne attack with 18 points as all thirteen Caissons scored in the game. Treavor Norman scored 14 points, Tate had 12 points, and Sandridge added 10.
