Fishburne Military School tops North Cross, 7-3

FMS newFishburne and North Cross traded the lead five times on Thursday in Roanoke, but it was Fishburne that emerged victorious by a 7-3 final.

Fishburne took an early lead in the first with singles from Jacob Harrison, Oliver Euteneuer and Quasean Napier. Harrison scored on Napier’s hit. North Cross answered with a run of its own with an RBI double by Josh Greenway.
FMS pushed across one run in both the third and the fourth and grabbed the lead for good during a strong sixth inning, with a two-run single by Calen Owens. The hit scored Timothy Arndt and Tyree Scott. Owens had three RBIs on three hits for Fishburne.

Treavor Norman recorded 13 strikeouts for the win, allowing two earned runs on four hits and eight walks over seven innings.

Justen Jensen took the loss for North Cross.

Fishburne is now 7-2 and plays a make-up game on Saturday in Waynesboro against Roanoke Catholic.
