Fishburne Military School, Norwich University forge admissions agreement

fishburne military school norwich universityFishburne Military School announced yesterday that an agreement was finalized with Norwich University (Northfield, Vt.) that will provide even greater opportunities for FMS cadets.

The agreement provides assured admission to Norwich University for qualified cadets graduating in good standing from Fishburne Military School.

This newest college connection for FMS graduates closely mirrors one penned between Fishburne and Valley Forge Military College (Wayne, Pa.) in 2014.

According to FMS Headmaster Col. Dan Baranik (VA), who was key in forging the Norwich agreement, “this marks a continuing, nation-wide recognition of Fishburne Military School’s success in educating young men and preparing them for lives of leadership in college and beyond.”

In a letter accompanying yesterday’s agreement Norwich University’s Executive Director for Enrollment Operations, Mr. Mike Yesalonia, himself a 1982 graduate of Norwich, notes that he is looking “forward to working with [FMS] to grow this relationship.”

“It is rewarding,” notes Baranik, “that prestigious colleges and universities such as Norwich are recognizing that Fishburne Cadets are prepared for the challenges in higher education and that schools are pursuing our graduates. These agreements, along with our recent ten year accreditation approval, validate that the school is accomplishing the mission of providing each Cadet with a sound academic foundation and a better understanding of the obligations of honor, citizenship, and self-discipline.”

FMS, by virtue of its status as a US Army JROTC Honor Unit with Distinction, may also nominate qualified candidates to the United States Service Academies.
