Fishburne Military School golf improves to 9-0

fms golfThe Fishburne Military School golf team improved its record to 9-0 Tuesday with a win against Roanoke Catholic School. The Caissions were led by freshman Matthew Manos and senior Collin Wade, both shooting a round of 4-over par, 40. Also contributing were Reid D’Amico and Jacob Cochran shooting a score of 44 and Hunter Couchot coming in with a 48.

“The team has really came together after the past week of adversity they have had,” coach Patrick Shiflett said. “Coach Sayre and I are pleased with the leadership and camaraderie the team has shown this week. We are one win away from having a perfect season, the boys know that, and that is something they really want, not only for themselves, but for the school as well.”

With the VIC conference tournament coming up, the Caissons will have one more match against Miller School Thursday at Waynesboro Country Club. The conference tournament will be held on Monday, May 12th at London Downs Golf Club in Lynchburg, Va. The Caissons are ranked #2 in the state polls, and will likely be playing in the State Tournament May 19th at the Manor in Farmville, VA.
