shen valley champ wrestlingA pro wrestling show on Saturday, August 2, at Spotswood High School will be the latest event for the upstart Shenandoah Valley Championship Wrestling.

The card for the event being billed as Fire in the Valley features ECW/WWE legends AXL Rotten and Balls Mahoney, former WCW star Lodi, current NWA U.S.Tag Team Title Holders the Legion of Kaos – Damien Wayne and Lance Erikson. Also featured will be Kacee Carlisle, Jessie Belle Smothers, Chris Escobar, Phil Brown, and other Pro wrestling stars from across the state of Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic region.

The show is being promoted by Luray native Chris Marston, the editor of PageCountyDotNet and the former editor of the Luray-Page Free Press. Marston has more than 15 years of experience in local event promotion, including a stint with Awesome Wrestling Entertainment, a sister company of Top Rope Pro Wrestling and Augusta Free Press.

“I have worked with other promoters, I have ventured out on my own and now I have at my doorstep my “sophomore event,”” said Marston, who made his debut as a wrestling promoter in March with the help of some other Wrestling Professionals. He made his solo debut in June launching the Shenandoah Valley Championship Wrestling promotion at Spotswood High School in Penn Laird VA

“I have had my ups and downs and the success we have experienced in our brief existence is due to the professionals that I have surrounded myself with,” Marston said. “If it had not been for several of them, including words of encouragement to me and words of praise about me to others, I would have folded earlier this year before I ever really got started.”

The show will feature the talent of wrestlers who hold championships across the Mid Atlantic area and some that have worked and continue to work in wrestling’s world stage.

“In effect, I have enrolled the best talent of the best talent and mixed them into a pot,” stated Marston. “In doing so, I have attracted talent that I never thought I would be able to attract at this stage and stand on the verge of announcing our first set of television contracts which will launch a new era into pro wrestling in the state of Virginia.”

Included on the card will also be Jermaine “Dirty Money” Robinson current Heavyweight title holder from DAWG pro wrestling promotion, Rick “Buz” Walton, Tytan, Brusier Graham, Tori Lynn, Renee Michelle, Tommy Williams, Beau Crockett, Hafu – the Tongan Beast , “Roanoke’s Own” Rolling Thunder and Col.
