Final UVA football spring practice set for Saturday at Scott Stadium

uva footballThe UVA football team’s final spring practice takes place Saturday at Scott Stadium at 2 p.m. The event, which is free, is part of UVA’s Wahoowa Weekend that features several home athletics events.

The “Clear Bag” policy and new security measures that were instituted for the 2017 football season will be in effect for entrance into Scott Stadium on Saturday.

The stadium’s East, West and North gates open at 12:30 p.m. for pre-game activities for fans on the concourse and field until 1:30 p.m. Attractions on the North concourse include face painting, a balloon artist, photo booth and cornhole. There will also be a variety of youth activities on the field, including a giant slide and inflatable obstacle course, target toss and field goal kick.

Following the football team’s practice, a 30-minute autograph session will take place on the field at approximately 4 p.m. Parking is free in the lots adjacent to Scott Stadium.

Fans attending will have the first opportunity to pick up the 2018 Virginia football schedule poster and schedule cards as well as register for the chance to win a pair of 2018 season tickets. The UVA equipment staff will hold its annual sale of used equipment, including football jerseys and helmets.

A UVA student tailgate featuring free Papa John’s pizza and Pepsi products will take place at Scott Stadium’s northeast concourse beginning at 2 p.m. The first 500 UVA students will receive a voucher for a free Virginia football t-shirt to be redeemed later in the event.
