Elon Musk goes nuclear on Donald Trump, whose allies are suggesting he be deported

Elon Musk said today that the reason Donald Trump hasn’t authorized the release of the notorious Epstein Files is because Trump would be implicated.

The next move in the tit-for-tat between the two man children could be Trump threatening to deport the South African billionaire.

Holy bejeezus, indeed.

The Epstein Files claim from Musk, who bankrolled Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, spending $291.5 million to assist Trump and congressional Republicans, came amid a back-and-forth between the wannabe dictator and his oligarch pal days after Musk was forced out of his part-time role in the Trump administration.

In the wake of his forced departure, Musk has gone scorched-earth on Trump, attacking the so-called “Big, Beautiful Bill,” the House Republican budget plan, calling it a “disgusting abomination.”

Trump responded in an Oval Office press avail on Thursday, suggesting Musk had come down with a case of “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

Things escalated from there to, eventually, Musk laying down the Epstein Files accusation, which has one congressional Democrat calling for the immediate release of the Epstein Files.

“I called for the full release of the Epstein Files a month ago because of my suspicion that Pam Bondi was concealing the files to protect Donald Trump. Now my suspicion has been confirmed. Release the #EpsteinFiles now!” Rep. Dan Goldman, D-N.Y., posted on social media.

At this writing, it has been quiet on the Trump-Musk dustup front for the past couple of hours, with the last salvo in the increasing hot war between the two camps being the push from Steve Bannon, a Trump ally, to open FBI investigations into Musk’s companies and begin proceedings to deport the native South African.

“They should initiate a formal investigation of his immigration status, because I am of the strong belief that he is an illegal alien, and he should be deported from the country immediately,” Bannon told The New York Times

Musk became a U.S. citizen in 2002, but Seth Abramson, a lawyer and biographer who has written books about both Trump and Musk, wrote on Bluesky that his view is “if Trump and his team get their hands on Elon Musk’s federal citizenship application and compare it to the public acknowledgment by Kimbal Musk that he and his brother knowingly violated their student visas, Musk can be deported.”

The silence that we’re in at this writing, per Abramson, is because the two sides are weighing their next moves.

Musk, Abramson wrote, is likely “huddling with his lawyers to determine whether Trump really can deport him as Trump’s generals (e.g., Bannon) are urging him to do. Things are getting quite serious, now.

“Right now, Trump is losing the war. But the second he says he’s looking into Musk’s citizenship application — on which, as the conventional wisdom goes, Musk lied repeatedly, nullifying it — Trump takes the upper hand again. I’m waiting with baited breath for Trump’s next maneuver,” Abramson wrote.

Trump doesn’t necessarily have the trump card here, though.

“If Trump makes his Big Move — threatening to revoke Elon’s citizenship — we could, within an hour or two of that, get accusations by Musk against Trump of serious criminal conduct. For all we know, possibly involving the 2024 presidential election. All of America is on tenterhooks,” Abramson said.
