Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance (HDR) will host Renaissance Night, its major fundraiser for downtown revitalization, on Saturday, May 17th from 6:30 to 11pm at Capital Ale House in Downtown Harrisonburg.
This themed event, “An Evening Downtown” will provide a full night of entertainment, including dinner and drinks, live and silent auctions, a trip raffle, and dancing to music by DJ Neals Barkley.
A silent auction will take place until 8:30 pm followed by a live auction at 8:45 pm. Guests will have the opportunity to bid on items from local businesses and artists, as well as a number of travel getaways, shopping sprees, and dinner parties. A raffle will also be held to win one of three trips for two to New York City, the Caribbean or Arizona.
Some featured items in this year’s auction include:
- A Summer Dinner Party for ten in Bella Luna’s private event room
- Create-your-own craft beer at Three Brothers Brewing
- A black pearl necklace from James McHone Jewelry
- A personalized Rocktown Bites! Downtown Food Tour for ten
The last item in the live auction is traditionally a special project for downtown. This year’s project is “Brighten up the ‘Burg”, which will raise funds to beautify downtown through visuals, lights, and art.
Tickets for Renaissance Night are $75 in advance and $100 after May 12. Tickets may be purchased by phone, in person at the HDR office, or online at www.downtownharrisonburg.org/renaissancenight.
Proceeds from the event support Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance’s mission to revitalize downtown Harrisonburg into a prosperous and vibrant city center by supporting programs for economic development, beautification, historic preservation, promotions, and special events.
