Update: Two dead in Albemarle County crash Wednesday on Route 29

Update: Friday, 1:18 p.m. Albemarle County Police Department has identified the victims of the fatal vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday morning on Monacan Trail Road as Trena Davis Miller, 49, and Janie Lee Davis, 74, both of Long Island, Virginia.

The crash remains under investigation by the Albemarle County Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team.


First report: Wednesday, 1:15 p.m. Two individuals are dead after a two-vehicle crash on Route 29 near Red Hill Road this morning.

At 5:22 a.m., units from the Albemarle County Police Department and Albemarle County Fire Rescue were dispatched to the scene.

The identities of the deceased victims have not been released at this time.

The crash remains under investigation by the Albemarle County Police Department.
