Update: Five injured, three seriously, in two-vehicle crash in Augusta County

Update: Thursday, 1:22 p.m. Five people were injured, three seriously, in a two-vehicle crash Monday at 8:24 p.m. in the 2400 block of Churchville Avenue (Route 250) in Augusta County.

A 2007 Dodge pickup truck was traveling west on Route 250 when it crossed the center line and struck a 2014 Toyota Corolla head-on.

The driver of the Dodge, Elizabeth L. Huffman, 48, of Staunton, was transported for treatment of serious injuries. She was not wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the Toyota, Mary Jo E. Rickman, 29, of Staunton, was transported for treatment of serious injuries. She was wearing a seatbelt.

In addition, there was one adult passenger transported for treatment of serious injuries and two children transported for treatment of minor injuries. All passengers were using appropriate safety restraints.

Huffman was charged with failure to maintain control. The crash remains under investigation.

 

First report: Tuesday, 11:24 a.m. Virginia State Police responded to a crash in the 2400 block of Churchville Avenue (Route 250) in Augusta County at 8:24 p.m. Monday.

A Toyota Corolla and a pickup truck collided and three people were injured. The injured were transported to Augusta Health and UVA Medical Center.

This is all the information we have at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
