The second annual Heritage5K Run/Walk sponsored by the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Historical Society is set for Saturday, Aug. 23, at 8 a.m. in Dayton.

The race will begin at Wilbur Pence Middle School in Dayton and end up at the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Historical Society Heritage Center Museum at 382 High St.

Register by Aug. 5 to receive a guaranteed official race T-shirt. A limited number of race T-shirts will be available for those who register after Aug. 5.

The cost of registration is $15. You can register online by visiting the HRHS website, www.heritagecenter.com, or by visiting the museum. A map of the race route also can be found on the website.

All proceeds from the event will be used to carry out the historical society’s mission to preserve our local history and heritage.
