lgo_mlb_baltimore_oriolesDavid Lough blasted a hanging splitter from Red Sox closer Koji Uehara into the right-field bleacher for a walk-off homer, giving the Baltimore Orioles a dramatic 5-4 win in 10 innings in Camden Yards Saturday night.

Lough’s home run, his first of the season, came after Chris Davis had tied the game at 4 with a sacrifice fly to left that scored Adam Jones, who had led off the 10th with a triple on a sinking liner to right that was misplayed by Allen Craig.

Boston had taken the lead in the top of the inning on a home run by Xander Bogaerts, his first of the season, off O’s reliever Brad Brach.

Orioles closer Zach Britton had a chance to close the game out in the ninth, but a walk, a pair of infield singles and a throwing error by third baseman Manny Machado allowed the Sox to tie the game and send it to extras.

Wei-Yin Chen was masterful on a cold, rainy night in Baltimore, giving up two runs on four hits in eight innings, striking out five and walking one.

Boston also got a solid outing out of starter Justin Masterson, who gave up three runs on seven hits in seven innings, striking out three and walking one.

Jimmy Paredes had four hits for the O’s, including his third homer of the season, a solo shot in the fifth.
