Dave Brat campaign claims momentum after Laura Ingraham rally

dave bratLast night, at a standing room only rally headlined by conservative radio and TV host Laura Ingraham, Dave Brat received a raucous welcome from more than 660 constituents from all counties of the Seventh Congressional District.

Brat, who is challenging House Republican leader Eric Cantor for the GOP nomination in the Seventh, has been pushing his stance on immigration, characterizing Cantor as pro-amnesty and saying the incumbent has flip-flopped on the issue and is deceiving voters on his position.

Ingraham said she would not have been in attendance “unless I thought this was critically important and unless I believed 100 percent in this man, Dave Brat.” She also noted that Brat’s positive demeanor and outlook reminded her of Ronald Reagan, with whom she worked years ago.

Brat succinctly summarized Eric Cantor’s lack of principle on amnesty. “Eric Cantor saying he is against amnesty is like Barack Obama saying he is against Obamacare,” Brat said.
