Culpeper District Traffic Alerts: Sept. 4-7

road work transportationThe following highway work is scheduled, weather permitting, in the Culpeper District during the upcoming week. Traffic movements may be restricted and speed limits reduced in work zones. (NEW) or (UPDATE) indicate revisions since last week’s report.

VDOT will suspend most highway work zones and lift lane closures on interstates and other major roads in Virginia from noon Friday, Aug. 31 until noon Tuesday, Sept. 4. For more information, see the news release.

Albemarle County

Interstate 64 – Bridge work in both directions on the Route 631 (Old Lynchburg Road) bridge over I-64 between mile marker 119 and 120. Right lane closed 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday through Friday.

(NEW) Route 677 (Bromley Road) – Pipe replacement between Route 250 (Ivy Road) and Route 1652 (Cobblestone Lane). Alternating lane closures on Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

(NEW) Route 660 (Reas Ford Road) – Pipe replacement between Route 1530 (Audubon Drive) and Route 676 (Woodlands Road). Alternating lane closures on Wednesday between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.

(UPDATE) Route 713 (Glendower Road) – Pipe replacement between Route 712 (Coles Rolling Road) and Route 618 (Blenheim Road). All lanes closed, use alternate routes Wednesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route 717 (Secretarys Sand Road) – Rehabilitating bridge over South Fork of the Hardware River. Road closed to through traffic Aug. 6-Dec. 14. Use alternate routes.

Culpeper County

(NEW) Route 1009 (Riverbend Lane) – Pipe replacement between Route 1018 (Hunters Grove Lane) and Route 644 (Reva Road). All lanes closed, use alternate routes Tuesday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

(NEW) Route 608 (Oakland Road) – Pipe replacement between Route 606 (Novum Road) and Madison County line. All lanes closed, use alternate routes Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Fauquier County

(UPDATE) Interstate 66 – Rehabilitating bridge over Route 725 (Tuckers Lane).

Expect eastbound lane closures during the following times:

· Tuesday from noon to 4 a.m.; Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 a.m.

· Friday from 9 a.m. to noon

Expect westbound lane closures during the following times:

· 8 p.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday through Friday

(UPDATE) Interstate 66 – Rehabilitating bridge over Route 688 (Leeds Manor Road).

Expect eastbound lane closures during the following times:

· Noon to 4 a.m. Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 4 a.m. Wednesday through Friday

Expect westbound lane closures during the following times:

· 8 p.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday through Friday

(UPDATE) Interstate 66 – Rehabilitating bridge over Route 724 (Pleasant Vale Road).

Expect eastbound lane closures during the following times:

· Noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday

(UPDATE) Interstate 66 – Westbound milling operations between mile marker 29 and 25. Expect lane closures Tuesday through Friday from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m.

Route 688 (Leeds Manor Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 688. Expect intermittent lane closures controlled by flagging while crews work underneath the bridge Tuesday, noon to 6 p.m., Wednesday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

(UPDATE) Route 724 (Sage Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 724. Expect intermittent lane closures controlled by flagging while crews work underneath the bridge Tuesday, noon to 5:30 p.m., Wednesday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

(UPDATE) Route 731 (Cobbler Mountain Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 731 intermittent lane closures controlled by flagging while crews work underneath the bridge Tuesday, noon to 5 p.m.; Wednesday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Fluvanna County

(UPDATE) Route 15 (James Madison Highway) – Resurfacing operations between Route 643 (Bethel Church Road) and Route 655 (West Bottom Road). Expect lane closures Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Greene County

Route 631 (Haneytown Road) – Replacement of bridge over Haneytown Creek. Road closed to through traffic at the bridge. Use alternate routes. Estimated completion in mid-February 2019.

Louisa County

Interstate 64 – Repairing eastbound bridge over Route 615 (Zion Road) at mile marker 136. Expect lane closures Tuesday through Thursday, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Orange County

Route 3 (Germanna Highway) – Signal repairs at Route 20 (Constitution Highway) intersection. Alternating east and westbound shoulder closures 100 feet either side of the intersection between noon and 5 p.m. Tuesday and from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.

Rappahannock County

Route 626 (Whorton Hollow Road) – Replacement of bridge over the Thornton River. Road closed to through traffic near Route 622 (Rock Mills Road) Aug. 6-Sept. 13. Use alternate routes.
