Culpeper District Traffic Alerts: Aug. 6-10

road work transportationThe following highway work is scheduled, weather permitting, in the Culpeper District during the upcoming week. Traffic movements may be restricted and speed limits reduced in work zones. (NEW) or (UPDATE) indicate revisions since last week’s report.

Albemarle County

(NEW) Interstate 64 – Eastbound sign installation between mile marker 120 and 122. Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(NEW) Interstate 64 – Westbound sign installation between mile marker 123 and 121. Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(NEW) Interstate 64 – Eastbound bridge painting between mile marker 119 and 120. Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday and Tuesday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Route 29 (Seminole Trail) – Repairs to bridge over Rivanna River near Route 643 (Polo Grounds Road). Expect lane closures Monday from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

(NEW) Route 250 (Richmond Road) – Sign installation between Rolkin Road and Davidson Road. Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(NEW) Route 250 (Richmond Road) – Repairs to bridge over the Rivanna River near Route 20 (Stony Point Road). Expect lane closures Monday through Friday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

(NEW) Route 717 (Secretarys Sand Road) – Rehabilitating bridge over South Fork of the Hardware River. Road closed to through traffic Aug. 6-Dec. 14. Use alternate routes.

Culpeper County

Route 15 (James Madison Highway) – Installation of raised pavement markers between Route 648 (Peacock Lane) and the Madison County line. Expect lane closures Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Route 29 (James Monroe Highway) – Installation of raised pavement markers between Route 609 (Hoover Road) and Route 718 (Mountain Run Lake Road). Expect lane closures Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Route 29 (James Madison Highway) – Bridge repairs at Route 15 (Brandy Road). Expect lane closures Monday through Thursday, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Fauquier County

Interstate 66 – Rehabilitating bridge over Route 725 (Tuckers Lane).

Expect eastbound lane closures during the following times:

· Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

· Friday from 9 a.m. to noon

· 7 p.m. Friday to 11 a.m. Saturday

· 9 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Sunday

(NEW) Interstate 66 – Inspection of Route 723 (Ashville Road) bridge over Interstate 66. Expect lane closures Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Interstate 66 – Milling and paving of the ramps to and from I-66 at Route 688 (Leads Manor Road). Ramps will be narrowed during work Monday through Friday from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. Obey traffic controls.

(NEW) Interstate 66 – Installation of signs in both directions between mile markers 30 and 33. Right shoulder closed during work Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(NEW) Interstate 66 – Paving operations between mile marker 26 and 29. Expect lane closures Thursday and Friday from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m.

(UPDATE) Route 17 (Winchester Road) – Paving operations between Route 724 (Pleasant Vale Road) and Interstate 66. Expect lane closures Monday and Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.

(NEW) Route 17 (Winchester Road) – Paving operations on westbound I-66 ramp to Route 17. Ramp will be narrowed during work Monday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

(NEW) Route 55 (John Marshall Highway) – Inspection of bridge over I-66. Expect lane closures Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

(NEW) Route 688 (Leeds Manor Road) – Milling and paving between Route 55 (John Marshall Highway) and Frontage Route 284 (Belle Meade Lane). Expect lane closures Monday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Route 688 (Leeds Manor Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 688. Expect intermittent lane closures controlled by flagging while crews work underneath the bridge Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Route 724 (Pleasant Vale Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 724. Expect intermittent lane closures controlled by flagging while crews work underneath the bridge Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Route 731 (Cobbler Mountain Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 731 intermittent lane closures controlled by flagging while crews work underneath the bridge Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Fluvanna County

(UPDATE) Route 15 (James Madison Highway) – Resurfacing operations between Route 643 (Bethel Church Road) and Route 655 (West Bottom Road). Expect lane closures Sunday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

Greene County

Route 631 (Haneytown Road) – Replacement of bridge over Haneytown Creek. Road closed to thru traffic at the bridge. Use alternate routes. Estimated completion in mid-Feb. 2019.

Louisa County

Route 250 (Three Notch Road) – Pavement marking and line painting between Route 659 (Courthouse Road) and the Goochland County line. Expect lane closures Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Route 522 (Cross County Road) – Pavement marking and line painting between Route 663 (Owens Creek Road) and Route 33 (Jefferson Highway). Expect lane closures Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Orange County

Route 20 (Constitution Highway) – Paving operations between Route 601 (Flat Run Road) and Route 729 (Tannery Road). Expect lane closures controlled by flaggers Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Rappahannock County

(NEW) Route 626 (Whorton Hollow Road) – Replacement of bridge over the Thornton River. Road closed to through traffic near Route 622 (Rock Mills Road) Aug. 6-Sept. 13. Use alternate routes.
