The Social Action Committee of the Waynesboro UU Fellowship will present a program on Climate Change on Thursday, March 8th at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, 565 Pine Ave, Waynesboro.
The program will be presented by Kara Ball of the Climate Reality Project. Ms. Ball is Director of Strategic Relationships, Office of the President of the National Wildlife Federation.
The NWF has identified as a top priority the need to wake up America to the urgency of climate change. She helps advance this priority by outreaching in her professional and personal capacities and is especially interested in the effects of climate change on our environment and communities. She was trained at the Climate Project in December of 2006 and holds a Masters of Public Policy with a concentration in Environmental Policy and an MBA from the University of Maryland.
Among the topics Ms. Ball will discuss are such questions as:
Do individuals really know what global warming is?
Why are sea levels rising?
What effects on wildlife will climate change have?
Why have the temperatures since 1997 been the warmest on record?
Why has the Earth’s temperature consistently risen since 1978?
The Climate Reality Project consists of more than 3,000 dedicated volunteers around the globe who were personally trained by former Vice President and Nobel Laureate Al Gore to educate the public about climate change. Climate Reality presenters have reached a worldwide audience of more than 7.3 million and are committed to preserving the climate balance upon which humanity depends.
