A two-vehicle crash on Route 7 in Clarke County took the life of a Berryville man.

According to Virginia State Police, John U. Miller Jr., 88, of Berryville, was driving a 2016 Ford F-150 west on Route 7 on Nov. 26 at 8:15 a.m. when he turned left into a crossover. As the Ford crossed the eastbound lanes of Route 7, the vehicle crossed into the path of an eastbound 2012 Ford F-150.

The 2012 Ford could not avoid striking the 2016 Ford in its side.

Miller suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash, and was transported to Winchester Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to VSP.

The driver of the 2012 Ford, a 43-year-old male from Charles Town, W.Va., suffered minor injuries and was transported to Winchester Medical Center for treatment.

He was also not wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation.
