I cannot believe how far ahead Kevin Chisnell has been able to book Mojo Saturday Nite, and even more impressive is the line up for the next five months: Juke Joint Junkies, Roddy Barnes, Bert and Ray, Hard Swimming Fish and Wrin Lunsford. Wow!
This month’s Juke Joint Junkies (lots of alliteration in that one) is the trio of Kevin, Lisa Miller and Jack Ray. They were hits last December as the headliners at Mojo’s Bluesy Christmas.
A special note should be taken of Mojo’s February performer, Roddy Barnes. Roddy is a master blues/jazz performer and composer whose songs have been recorded by Saffire-the Uppity Blues Women. He has released six of his own albums and has been featured on a variety of radio programs, and performed in several countries. He was a show stopper when he performed.
