Clair Myers: Christmas Carol

Sometimes serendipity works in this business.  I saw a listing for a one-man show in the Virginia Commission for the Arts touring roster.  I contacted the actor, John Hardy, about coming to Waynesboro to do his original script Rattlesnake, and we agreed on an April date and I wrote and secured a VCA matching grant to bring him to WTA’s Gateway.

Along the way he sent a note saying that one of his engagements for his one-man adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol had been canceled at the last minute.  Would we be interested in that date?  Would we!

The upshot is we are getting his show on Saturday, December 22.  What a great Christmas gift!

Hardy is at or just finished a role at the Barter Theatre.  Now Waynesboro gets to see that talent in a holiday favorite and anticipate his return in April in his own script.

I like it when it turns out this way.
