Chris Davis homer lifts Orioles past Yankees, 2-1

lgo_mlb_baltimore_oriolesChris Davis broke a 1-1 ninth-inning tie with a solo homer, lifting the Baltimore Orioles to a 2-1 win over the New York Yankees on Tuesday night in Yankee Stadium.

Davis’ homer, his 41st of the season, came off Yankee reliever Chase Shreve (6-2, 1.99 ERA).

New York starter Masahiro Tanaka got a no-decision after going eight innings, giving up a run on six hits, striking out 10 and walking one.

O’s starter Kevin Gausman went five innings, giving up a run on six hits, striking out five and walking one.

Darren O’Day (6-2, 1.69 ERA) got the win in relief for Baltimore (66-72).
